white and black porcelain

These two statues are segments from a sequence of objects. The first one is a simple geometric shape cast into a construction made of cast plates and blocks. After taking the individual pieces of cast apart, I cut and break the cast and then assembled it back together into an identical composition. This procedure is repeated several times. As a result, the original shape unravels into random dynamic structures. For me, the process itself represents the infinite conflict between the rational and the emotional. The sequence is without a beginning and an end, thus only offers a segment of a bigger picture.
